A couture gown was today's challenge. The colors were to match some eye shadows in bright, metallic, velvet, matte, and a few others, but they never showed them closeup so I don't know the exact shades.
I went with green satin for the skirt, a gold metallic bustier, and salmon chiffon wrapped around the neck, criss-crossed around the back, then brought forward and wrapped into a belt. Crystal beads were added to the belt front.
The "twist" was to make an additional piece, a cocktail dress, off-the-rack. I did a simple wrapped green satin dress. Update: The high contrast in the couture gown bothered me. So I redid it with an overlayer of the salmon chiffon. Beautiful! I like the unusual resulting color. And the contrast was far more subdued and elegant.
